Addison Wetland

Location

Williams Landing

When Warrandale commenced on site at Williams Landing the site had be excavated by civil but was otherwise a blank slate. Remediation of the site, minor grading and soil preparation we undertaken before jute matting, planting and netting the wetland.

As with most new housing developments, Williams Landing has been designed to include a functional wetland as an alternative to the traditional approach to stormwater, seeking to minimise the adverse effects of run-off and encouraging biodiversity.

Bordering the North Western edge of the wetland is a community space featuring a custom designed and built shelter, playground and fitness areas and open grassed spaces.

Included in the playspace are twelve custom blade sculptures, propeller blades Marked with the names of air craft, these blades reflect the history of Williams Landing - named for the historic aviation base on which it is located.
